Shino Kitano is an artist and story teller who has always seen the world through a unique lens. From living in her birthplace of Tokyo, Japan to Andalucia, Spain, New York City, ,and Portland Oregon, she seeks to

connect to the world by capturing the various ways life occurs from the simple to the complex. With a career spanning over 15 years, appearances in print publications and television, and her photojournalism project We The People with Rico Washington added to the Smithsonian collection, Shino continues to grow with her art. Influenced by her mentors Jamel Shabazz and Ruiko Yoshida, her work showcases an intimate and reflective approach to capturing her subjects. She uses photography to connect the inherent beauty of the natural world with the true equality of humanity. Whether celebrity or civilian, all are equal before her lens.

As a photographer and artist, she loves to capture the world through her lens, whip up delicious dishes, design interiors, draw, and connect with nature. She believes that spending time outdoors fuels her creativity and inspires her photography. With each project, she aims to tell a unique story and showcase the beauty of the world. Through her art, she hopes to inspire others to see the world in a new light and appreciate its wonder.
